ABOUT MURIEL MCCLYMONT

An Accredited Association for Coaching Professional Coach with over 15 years experience, I am also a Certified Coach Supervisor.

My Story

For many years I lived my life on autopilot. Working hard, as I’d been told to do as a child, resulted in a position at Board level in the corporate world. But I wasn't enjoying it. I didn't value what I was doing and was working so hard, forgot to even think about what I might actually want to do instead.

Becoming increasingly unhappy it took the development of physical symptoms to convice me that I was in the wrong job. So I resigned.

I was fortunate enough to be able to take some time out and I spent it walking, processing where I had got to, and for the first time in my life, really thinking about what I wanted to do next.

After a couple of false starts I settled on coaching and began my journey, or to put it another way, I started to wake up and make proper decisions about how I wanted to live my life going forward.

Working as a coach is the most fulfilling thing I have ever done. By helping people to see themselves and their situations differently, they can connect more congruently and authentically with themselves and the direction they want to take in life. The changes that can cascade from this work constantly inspire me and let me know I am exactly where I need to be right now in my own life.

Where I am now

In addition to my own private coaching and supervision practice, I work as a coach and consultant with Judith Lowe of PPD Learning Ltd, a long standing and highly regarded NLP Training organisation. I coach at Sanctus, whose mission is to normalise the conversation around mental health in the workplace. For Changing Chances, who are focussed on improving the life chances of children and young people, I coach members of the senior leadership teams in schools.

I have led the coaching team for the Generative Coaching Programme in London twice. A role that involves offering supervision for the team as well as supporting the participants and trainers.

A passionate life long learner I continue to invest in my own personal development. This benefits me as well as making me a more effective coach and supervisor. In addition to attending training programmes I have my own coach and attend regular professional coaching supervision.

Coach Training Programmes I have attended include:

  • Diploma in Coaching and Executive Coaching with Noble Manhattan

  • NLP Practitioner with NLP University, Santa Cruz, California

  • NLP Master Practitioner with PPD Learning Ltd

  • Language in Action with Christina Hall

  • The Paradoxical Nature of Change with Christina Hall

  • Practitioner of Generative Coaching with Stephen Gilligan & Robert Dilts
